Laminate Flooring
We have talked alot about different ways to update your home. Another great way is with laminate flooring. Many people call this Pergo, which is actually a specfic type of laminate flooring. Laminate flooring has the look of real wood floors, but is a lot less expensive, and easier to install. There are a lot of different styles and colors of Laminate flooring, so be sure to determine which is best for you and your home.
Laminate flooring can be installed by the homeowner, however you do need the right tools. Most of the laminate floors are floating floors, which means that you do not need any glue or adhesive to secure them to the subfloor. This also means it is easier to take up if you ever want to remodel. The different sections of the flooring snap together.
When installing the flooring, you need to make sure that you install a foam mat first. This will help with cushioning the flooring. You can buy rolls of the foam at your local home improvement center. What I like is the laminate flooring that has the foam already glued to the pieces of the flooring. This way you don’t have to worry as much about the foam buching up and making it a lot harder to install.
