When selling your home, you need to make sure that people come and tour your home, they are excited.  You want to make sure that there is no mess for them to look through.  People obviously know that you are moving, but that is no excuse to leave your home full of boxes and packing material.  Each showing is very important, do not take any showing lightly.  If potential buyers of your home are not impressed right away, they probably will not come back for a second showing.

Make sure that your home is clean on the inside an out.  Clean up your home as well as your yard, and I mean every inch of it.  If you have a bad odor in your home, do whatever you can to get the oder out.  However that does not mean burning lots of scented candles to cover up the oder.  Potential buyers can figure out that you are trying to cover up an oder if you make it obvious.  Make sure to sweep your sidewalks and the entry way.  Touch up any walls that need to be repainted.  If you are going to repaint make sure to use neutral colors.  Make sure to have your home clean everyday.  You never know when there will be a last minute showing.
