There are many ways to keep your utility bills down at your home.  One way to do this is to conserve water.  Here are some tips on how to do this:

You can start out by getting low flow shower heads and facuets.  These low flow facuets give out between 1.5  2.5 gallons of water every minute or 1.5 gpm.  The way to test this is to get a gallon bucket and see how long it takes your facuet to fill the bucket.  If it takes less than 20 seconds you should think about replacing your fixture.

A cheaper way to fix your fixture is to get different aerators for your facuets.  These are the things that screw on the the part of the fixture where the water comes out.  This is a simple fix.

Here is a quick list of some more ideas:

- Turn off the water when you are brushing your teeth.

- Check for leaky toilets

- Raise up the mower blades ( Longer grass holds in water longer)

- Water early in the morning ( Water dosn’t  have the sun to evaporate it)

- Use the right setting on the washer (Permanent press uses 5 more gallons than the regular setting)
