You wake up in the morning, then you probably visit your bathroom.  Get ready for bed at night, once again you probably visit your bathroom.  Your bathroom is probably one of your most used rooms in your home.  It also might a room that is overlooked easily when it comes to decorating.  But many people think that it is Kitchens and Bathrooms that are the biggest cause of showing the age of a home.

A total bathroom remodel can be very expensive and time consuming though.  You might not have the money to do this.  There are many things that you can do to update your bathroom without spending lots of money.

One thing you can do is to change out old shower doors.  If your shower doors are outdated and don’t look very good, you could replace them with a shower curtain.   This is a very inexpesive fix, and can dramatically change the look of your bathroom.

Another is to change out the knobs on the cabinets and drawers.   You can also paint your bathroom.  Lighter colors make the room look bigger, and darker colors make the room look smaller.  If there are any water stains you want to first make sure to cover them with an oil-based primer.  You will probably also want to use an eg-shel or semi-gloss paint.  These are easier to clean and also more moisture resistant.

Changing the light fixtures can also change the look of the bathroom.  Make sure you know what kind of lights you have before you go buy new ones.  Some lights mount from the ceiling, and some from the wall.

Bathroom remodeling dosen’t have to be expensive.  With a few little changes you can update your bathroom.  You can do it for your own enjoyment, or it also helps when you are trying to sell your home.
